Firefox has assembled Overly Attached Girlfriend, Dancing Matt, Annoying Orange and other early-internet fixtures for a browser commercial. Apparently the ancient memes have been summoned because somebody needs to talk about the state of the place.
The pitch is nostalgia, but the useful bit is choice. A browser can’t restore the internet of 2006. It can at least give you somewhere to go instead of accepting whatever the largest platforms have decided browsing should feel like this week.
Come for the reunion. Leave with a second browser installed. That is a remarkably practical outcome for an Annoying Orange appearance.
